In today’s context of integration and development, especially as the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) is increasingly intense and deeply impacting both daily life and the production environment, many traditional professions are being phased out while numerous new jobs are emerging that require highly qualified human resources. Therefore, strengthening the connection between universities and enterprises in training human resources that meet real-world production demands is both inevitable and essential.
On December 21, 2021, the Faculty of Business Administration and International Economics organized a delegation to visit and present 2022 New Year calendars to associations, enterprises, agencies, and partner organizations that have maintained strong cooperation, mutual support, and engagement with the Faculty and Lac Hong University over the past time.
The visiting delegation from the Faculty included:
Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tân – Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and International Economics
Dr. Nguyễn Văn Dũng – Head of the Department of Management and Quality Production
Mr. Võ Thái Sinh – Officer of the Faculty’s Enterprise Relations Division
The Business Administration program currently has the largest number of enrolled students among all programs within the Faculty. It is particularly suitable for dynamic young individuals with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and passion for business. However, passion alone is not enough. Systematic thinking, strategic vision, and business acumen are also essential factors. Beyond academic training, personal traits and character play a crucial role.
To meet students’ needs for internships, practical experience, and employment upon graduation, the Faculty of Business Administration and International Economics at Lac Hong University must further strengthen cooperation with enterprises and build long-term partnerships with associations and organizations. This helps enhance training quality and provide effective solutions to meet societal and national development needs.
Mr. Đặng Quốc Nghi shared during the meeting:
“The University should focus on training in fields that are in high demand and closely connected to enterprises, so that students can secure employment immediately after graduation. Academic programs should be aligned with actual job requirements. Through high-quality, practice-oriented training, students will not have to relearn or struggle to adapt to their jobs but can quickly integrate and perform effectively, aiming for long-term development. Students are the final product of the training process.
At the same time, enterprises should participate in the training process as guest speakers and lecturers to share practical experience as part of course content. A chain of interconnected activities should be built to create value for both sides.”
Dr. Nguyễn Văn Tân – Dean of the Faculty – also shared:
“The Faculty and the University will organize professional skill training and assessment at enterprises, and coordinate with businesses to arrange field trips, internships, and production process visits for students. This allows students to better understand their field of study and define their learning goals. Training standards will be oriented toward serving enterprise needs, enabling students to directly experience the production environment, gain practical knowledge, and allowing businesses to identify potential candidates for recruitment.”
On average, every two years, the Faculty reviews and evaluates its training programs and learning outcomes. Industry experts from enterprises are invited to participate in these evaluations, as they are best positioned to assess students’ knowledge, professional skills, problem-solving abilities, and soft skills such as communication and behavior. Enterprises also contribute by recommending necessary majors, priority subjects, and skill requirements. This collaboration enables businesses to directly select qualified candidates, thereby shortening the recruitment process.
In recent years, the Business Administration program has worked closely with Faculty leadership and the Enterprise Relations Division to develop policies and strategic plans. Continuous efforts to approach and collaborate with enterprises and associations have resulted in significant achievements, including the AUN-QA accreditation evaluation in June 2021.
After these meetings, the Faculty recognized that enterprise connections are still limited, and cooperation has not yet been deep or consistent enough. However, through stronger collaboration with enterprises, the Faculty and the University will have greater opportunities to innovate organizational structures and management practices; update curricula, teaching methods, and research activities to better meet real business needs; and further strengthen partnership and promotion activities.
